上回的【教學】如何看英文棒針織圖-初級篇介紹了基本英文讀法，

相信各位織女們都多了些概念，

也希望大家會更願意嘗試多采多姿的英文織法囉！

After demonstrating the fundamental principles for reading English knitting patterns in【Lesson】How to Read an English Knitting Pattern-Beginner,

I hope that everyone has gained greater familiarity with English patterns,

and is also more willing to try out new patterns!

在此媽咪整理了一些英文織圖中較常出現的縮寫與名詞，

以供大家參考。

很多前輩也整理過類似的文章，

媽咪的未必會更詳細或更精準，

純粹是方便大家跟媽咪其他的教學篇一起對照，

有時間媽咪也會陸續將其它歐美常見的名詞和織法補充上去。

In this article I have compiled some of the more common abbreviations and knitting terms for reference.

Many expert knitters in Taiwan have already done something similar,

and my compilation is not necessarily more detailed or more accurate,

but is purely for convenience in cross-referencing with my other teaching articles.

When there is time I will continue adding other common English knitting terms and techniques to this table.

另外提醒大家，

因為歐美編織的國家與地區很多，

編織用語未必完全統一，

甚至偶有「一字多用」的現象，

看英文織圖的時候還是要優先對照織圖（或書）上所附的縮寫表喔！

有時候看來陌生的名詞其實並不是新織法，

而是不同的名字而已啦～

（當然特殊或新的織法是一定會有額外的說明的唷～）

As a reminder, given that there are so many countries and regions knitting around the world,

the English knitting terminology is not always uniform for everyone,

and sometimes the same word even means different things in different patterns.

When you try out a new pattern,

remember to always FIRST refer to the glossary or list of abbreviations provided by the pattern (or book)!

Sometimes an unfamiliar term is not necessarily a new technique,

just a different name!

(Naturally special or new techniques will always warrant extra explanatory space~)

knitted cast on 加針起針法（又稱為 knitting on）

kw = knitwise 下針方向

LH = left hand 左手

long-tail cast-on 一般起針法（又稱為 continental cast-on 或 double cast-on）

lp(s) = loop(s) 圈圈

M1 = make 1 stitch 加一針（從下方挑針的方式，可分從右側或左側）

MC = main color 主色

moebius cast-on (Cat Bordhi style) 梅式翻轉起針法（Cat Bordhi 方式，常見於翻轉披肩起針）

mm = millimeter(s) 公釐

moss stitch 桂花針（英式與美式略有不同：英式為每段上下針替換，美式為每兩段上下針替換，英式moss stitch 在美式織圖中稱為 seed stitch）

no stitch = skip to next square on chart 無針，直接跳到織圖的下一格

omit 省略不織

oz = ounce(s) 盎司

simple cast-on 簡易式起針法（影片介紹兩種方向）

sl = sl st = slip stitch/es from left needle to right needle without working, the yarn may be held either in front or back of the slipped stitch. 滑針（掛針可能在織片前方或在後方，詳細說明參考各類滑針）

slip marker 將記號圈滑到另一棒針

sp2p = sl 1 knitwise, p2tog, psso = slip 1 knitwise, purl 2 together, pass slipped stitch over purled stitch 以下針方向滑一針、織左上二併針、將滑針套過併針

ssk = slip, slip, knit = slip two stitches knitwise, one at a time, then insert left-hand needle point into the fronts of these two stitches, and knit them together (left slanting decrease) (similar to skp) 右下二併針（以下針方向分別滑兩針、將左棒針穿過兩滑針前方，織成一個下針）（日符號：「入」，與 skp 織法稍微不同但效果類似）

ssp = slip, slip, purl 右上二併針

st(s) = stitch(es) 針

St st = stockinette stitch (all knit) 平針（正面全下針）

tbl = through back loop 從針目後方穿入棒針（通常有扭針的效果）

tension 密度

tog = together 一起

tubular cast-on 柱狀起針法（也可當鬆緊編起針）

twisted German cast-on 德式扭轉起針法（起針較有彈性，也適用於鬆緊編起針）

Block:

是指定型,定型有很多種,現在大多用蒸氣熨斗烘烘,是有的還是要用wet block,尤其蕾絲的project.打好後泡水20分鐘,先用手把水分擠出來(千萬不可以用扭的!!會變形!!切記!!),再用大毛巾包起來吸乾剩餘水分,在平坦表面攤開,整型,用大頭針拉好定型,讓蕾絲的花樣明顯,但是也不要過度拉扯.我是撲在地氈上, 小喵是在瑜珈墊上撲大毛巾,小亨利是放在多餘的床墊上

break yarn:

就是把線剪斷.建議其中一半的線頭不要留太長,要收進去,另一半的要留長,大概是圍巾寬度的4倍,拿來做grafting用.

garter stich:

就是都打下針. 通常圖樣會告訴你打幾行的garter stitch. 比方說 4 rows of garter stitch, 等等.

Grafting:

就是只另外用毛線仿造上下針的樣子把兩片織片接起來.小喵打的grafted version就是圍巾分兩半完成,所以第一半打好後要把針移到防解別針(holder)上,如果沒有可以用一段剩線穿起來.這個version的圍巾圍起來,看到的虎眼都是正的,我打的version(不是grafted version)有一邊就會倒過來.

k(knit): 下針

k2 edge sts: knit 2 edge stitchs

用下針打2針"邊"的花樣針.很多圍巾和披肩都會有一個邊(edge),可以很簡單也可以單獨有一個花樣(pattern).這裡我想你應該是看一個有邊的pat

k2tog:

相當於日制的左下二併針，符號為 "人"

k3tog: knit 3 together

日制的左下三併針

3針一起打下針,也是原來3針變1針.

p(purl): 上針

sl1, k2tog psso: slip 1, knit 2 together and pass slipped stitch over

日制的右下三併針這個我想你前面是不是漏貼一個 sl1(slip 1,滑1針,用右針把左針上的1針直接撥到右針)?如果是 sl1 k2tog psso 就是 sl1 k2tog psso (slip 1 knit 2 together pass slipped stich over) = 滑一針,2針一起打下針(就是下併針,2針變1針),再把最開頭滑的那1針套到剛剛併好的那1針上.這個動作會減掉2針,原來3針變1針.

ssk: slip slip knit

日制的右下二併針，符號為 "入"

滑兩針到右針上,把左針插到剛剛滑過的兩針前面(front loop),一起打1下針.

很多人很難理解這一個,最好的方式是要示範.所謂前面,是說一針(stitch)在針(needle)上的時候是一個環狀(loop),針的前面有一條線(front loop),後面也有一條線(back loop).上面說的"前面"就是指針前面的線(front loop).

sl: slip

滑,右針從左針撥一針到右針上.

weave in ends:

就是把線頭收進(織物裡面)去, 怎麼收看隨人喜好,只要最後看不到就好啦

yo: yarn over 符號為 "O"

日制的掛針

就是把毛線在針上繞一圈,如果前一針是下針(knit stitch),毛線由針後面下方往上繞到針前面下方;如果是上針(purl stitch),毛線由針前面下方往上繞到針後面下方.
